Mrs. T’s Individual Program
- Assessment: Mrs. T. first assesses your child’s needs and creates an individual program prepared specifically for your child.
- Flexible: This program can range from learning specific topics to a wide range of subjects.
- This program targets your child’s educational weaknesses while considering educational needs, strengths, and how your child best learns.
- Goal Setting: opportunities to decide on personal educational goals. Studies have proven that when students have more control over their education, they learn more quickly. Through the promotion of personal educational goals, concepts in every subject can be mastered.
- Learning Reports are provided to keep you informed of your child’s progress.
- Worksheets: To promote learning, thinking
skills, knowledge and mastery of concepts, or as your child encounters new concepts, worksheets and other materials
are often included to practice at home. These are produced to assist your child with mastery and to succeed in the educational process. - Adaptive: Your child’s educational development is constantly monitored and the program is modified whenever needed.

Details - What You Need to Know
On this page:
Parental Expectations
- Be on time for each session, unlike with some doctors, I do not double or triple book! There may be other students waiting for their session so if you are late it could interfere with your child’s education.
- Avoid use of perfume and cigarette smoke prior to arriving as these can be offensive to others, sometimes causing serious health risks.
- Provide the time for your child to practice the given work.
- Provide a quiet location for your child to work and learn.
- Never do a child’s homework; it is sent for the child’s educational practice and benefit. If your child is experiencing difficulty with the work, contact Mrs. T for more information.
- Remain positive - by providing a positive atmosphere, you give your child the opportunity to learn and study in a calm and happy atmosphere.
- Make every effort to ensure your child continues to learn and attend the sessions until he/she has mastered the skills and materials necessary for succeeding in education and life.
Learning Factors
- Your child will not magically learn all the concepts needed just by attending Mrs. T’s sessions; the child must do the given work and make an effort to learn.
- There are various factors involved in a child’s education which affect memory and rate of learning. Since these are beyond our control, (yours and mine), any guarantee that your child will advance two or three grade levels is very dependent on any number of factors.
- A huge factor in your child’s learning is a desire to learn! If a child is given work but does not do it, or is taught but will not listen, then that child’s attitude is preventing any learning from taking place. The attitude must first be dealt with before any program can be effective.
- Frequency: Very important factor, please see next section.
Frequency Benefits
More frequent sessions with Mrs. T will provide your child with the following (assuming your child is committed to learning):
- faster learning

- more likely to master concepts
- cover more material; (useful for
those who are dramatically behind) - less time lost in relearning forgotten concepts
- superior learning from consistent reinforcement
How long should my child be in
this program?
- In Mrs. T’s Program, once a student has successfully mastered the Learning Keys (sets of necessary knowledge in English, Math, or any topic), the student is welcome to continue with Mrs. T for ongoing support, but at that time will have the skills necessary to work and learn independently and confidently.
- Students have the opportunity to study at their own pace. It is far more important for students to master the concepts and build self esteem rather than rush through and fail to learn. Since students learn at their own pace, it is difficult to place a specific amount of time on the program. It also depends on your child’s rate of learning and how much needs to be learned.
- A major barrier to students’ gaining confidence and skills may be their own lack of motivation. While there are motivational activities and discussions that may help, if a student refuses to learn the materials, then the underlying cause must first be addressed before any advancement can take place.
Mrs T. offers your child an excellent program in education.
